Ok, so making over any bathroom will not be "cheap" necessarily. But what about a few hundred dollars to get things going? That is what we did, and it worked out great. There were a lot of things that we found to be useful along the way, the least of which saved us more money than we could have imagined!! There is a simple guide to bathroom remodeling on the Houzz website, but they seem to want you to go from the idea phase to then hiring one of their pros right away. What we decided to do was a little different. First, we started getting ideas from around the web. This included going to the local home depot, other blogs from around our local community, contractor websites, you name it we looked at it. The most productive event occurred while we were pricing some of the materials like the new tiles and sink. These items came with very detailed descriptions, as well as the design of the material within a newly remodeled bathroom, and to top it off the cost was right there as well. We found a great design for a new bathroom from the Home Ideations website here is Delaware, then we simply sent them a message about one of their photos and they got back to us very quickly about how we could get the material at their cost. This was a really top notch thing for them to do, as I am sure they profit from the cost of said material for such a job, and they decided to show us their hold cards for no apparent reason. Well, needless to say, with such a nice gesture we knew who we would call should we need anyone to install the materials once they arrived. The funny thing is, I thought I could handle the job once it came down to it- well with my two previous handyman experiences going so well and all! So, the new tiles came in and I got to work. This is where things took a turn. I got to prying up the old tiles and began removing the glue from beneath the original tile. The ceramic surface is such an unforgiving mess, that within about an hour I decided it was beyond my capability. So, on to plan B! I quickly called Home Ideations LLC and asked if they could give me an estimate on installing new tiles. They laughed beacsue we had just spoken a few days prior, and they offered to come out and do the job for an extremely reasonable amount. I was thrilled. There was nothing more embarrassing than admitting defeat. Luckily, there was someone who could help who could laugh with me, and without laughing at me! Next, we are going to be doing a kitchen renovation! Now it will be interesting to see how far I get into this project before calling on an expert :)
